La Laiterie du Berger is a finalist for Africa Awards for Entrepreneurships

On Monday the 2nd Oct, Africa Awards for Entrepreneurships has announced its 12 2012 finalists. We are proud because La Laiterie du Berger is one of them.
The Africa Awards for Entrepreneurships are led by The African Leadership Network, the premier membership network of new generation leaders in Africa, and Omidyar Network, a philanthropic investment firm. The objective is to highlight business leaders “who serve as role models to Africa’s aspiring entrepreneurs and who demonstrate business excellence, innovation and profitability”
The 12 finalists are from 8 countries and have been chosen amongst 1200 candidates. They are split between 3 categories:
- “Outstanding Small and Growing Business Award”
- “Mature Business Award”
- “Transformational Business Award”
La Laiterie du Berger has been selected for the 1rst category and its competitors are Bloodhound Technology, and Bridge International Academies(more details on the awards website).
Awards will be presented to winners on Thursday October 11, 2012 from 6pm-10pm.

Last week, Bagoré Bathily, Managing Director of La Laiterie du Berger, attended the Africa Finance and Investment Forum 2012 that took place at Utrecht, in Netherlands (17th-19th June).
Bagoré made a presentation day 3, to present the context of Senegal, the paradox of the herders situations and La Laiterie du Berger, the social business company he created in 2005.

- Tous les jours, entre 1 200 et 6 000 L de lait sont collectés selon la saison. Par ailleurs, en 2010 ce sont près de 800 éleveurs qui fournissent du lait à la Laiterie du Berger, leur assurant ainsi un revenu régulier.
- Story
- La Laiterie du Berger est née en 2005, de l’initiative de Bagoré Bathily, jeune vétérinaire sénégalais. La première usine de transformation du lait récolté a vu le jour fin 2006.
