Brice LEWILLIE

Hello everyone,

My name is Brice, a recent graduate of EM Lyon, I just accept a life of 12 months as Project Manager of Grameen Danone Foods Limited in Bogra.

Before discovering facilities Danone in Bangladesh I first met in India, the team of Danone Asia. We were able to discuss Danone South Asia as well as missions and the role I have to fill in Bangladesh. After training a few weeks, I will replace Gwénaël Gaigeard whose departure is scheduled on November 27. As Project Manager, I'll be in charge of the overall business management, operation of the supply chain, marketing (with support from Danone India) and finally all that relates to Danone Communities.
I am delighted and very excited to begin this exciting mission! I am inclined to the idea of facing a challenge for the future: business sustainably. This is indeed the company, to participate in the provision of social and environmental solutions and what, specifically, in a country that is very complex with an extremely low purchasing power and little or no infrastructure.

I am interested in this project for several reasons. I always had a strong desire to undertake to do so I took a specialization in creation, redemption and Entrepreneurship (Master in Entrepreneurship EM Lyon). During my studies, I realized that most companies were largely focused on the 800 million people making up the top of the income pyramid. With this in mind and limits entrepreneurial that involved, I chose to do my final internship to study the Sustainable Development Department of a French CAC40 (but not Danone, this time). In charge of political spin-off group (help with start-ups), I was "initiated" in search of answers to the problems of sustainable entrepreneurship said. During this internship, I have done much research, mainly in Anglo-Saxon literature, treating the 4 billion people on very low incomes, neglected by companies. Wishing to further deepen the subject, I did a thesis on the entrepreuneuriat professional development, or opportunities of sustainable development for businesses. This work allowed me to specialize in the "Bottom of the Pyramid" and the social business, particularly through the study of innovative business models such as that of Grameen Danone Food. Therefore, I wanted to experience the Grameen Danone Food of the Interior to control this type of approach: a business model and a local distribution system original. Indeed, multinationals have historically developed in developed countries and the few groups who have chosen this approach quickly if its schools. As such, Danone is a group leader who had the audacity not to restrict its target more affluent consumers (projects in South Africa and Poland). Beyond, with danone.communities, I'll have the opportunity to participate in a social business: focusing on the social impact, with the economic leverage.

The many months I'm going to Bogra will allow me to confront my research, my work and my ideas on the BOP and the social business entrepreneurial realities. I will keep you informed of course about the progress of my mission, successes, difficulties or my learning about it.
See you soon!
